Principia College is blessed with many wonderful faculty and staff that make the campus run smoothly. A few of these employees are retiring at the end of this quarter, including the library archivist and chair of the Cultural Properties Committee, Jane Pfeifer; Registrar Mary Collins; Sara Rockabrand of the Music department; and Student Activities Director Yvonne Quinlan-Pierce.
Each available job listing is assigned to a different search committee, which often includes the unit head, an instructor within the same department, and a faculty member from a different department.
The college put all forces into play to find substitute professors. The administration contacted a wide range of potential professors, from former faculty to Christian Science Monitor Editor John Yemma. Three current faculty and staff members came forward to fill the voids.
