This year’s Whole World Festival was a wonderful conglomeration of dances, poetry, music and clothing from countries around the world. Japanese Taiko Drummers started the night off, which was immediately followed by refreshments, culture booths and friendly mingling in the Davis Theatre Lobby. The Samba Ngoma Band played next with members such as Janet Mulwenge, Calvin Nyapete, Daniel Otieno, Fredrick Ochieng and Phillip Riley. Poetry readings, a samba dance, and Indonesian songs followed, after which the swing dance club showcased American choreography with a 1930s style swing dance to “American Patrol.” Sokkie, African, Latin and Hip-Hop dances concluded the evening, topped off by an international fashion show.
