Recently, I followed the new Land Stewardship Coordinator, John Lovseth, while he took the Stewardship Crew on a honeysuckle-removal rampage. He drove the truck with care, chatting the entire way. Juniors Collin Wolfe and Nick Tosto rode in the cab, while Junior Michael Dutton and Freshman Ben Summerlin sat in the bed. John immediately started a snowball fight when we arrived at our location. Then, John, Michael, and Collin sharpened and gassed up the chainsaws. John sliced through the honeysuckle like a hot knife through butter. Their efforts will expedite the tree harvest scheduled for this spring; the trees to be harvest are marked in blue.
