CSO Corner 05.29.09

29 May 2009 No Comment

At the close of an amazing quarter, the CSO is already beginning to catch a few glimpses of the good to come in the fall! Our quarterly election meeting took place the Sunday before last, and we elected new readers and a few members of the executive board.

First of all, we’d like to thank all of our readers for this past quarter: Bethany Boyer-Rechlin, Caleb Stevens, K.C. Gahlon, Jamie Furbush, and Nina Mokoosio. Their dedication and thoughtful work has blessed, and will continue to bless, the entire campus for these ten weeks and beyond. We’d also like to thank our outgoing board members for their tireless work: Ali Summerlin, Paul Thurbon, Cameron Dutro, Amy Baldauf, and Jenny Ferch. They have each brought a unique perspective to the board as well as a spirited passion for promoting Christian Science.

Now, we’d like to congratulate our new readers and board members starting in the fall! Our Sunday readers will be Will Buchanan and Megan McGinnis. Tuesday testimony meeting readers will be Cameron Dutro, Grace Hathaway, and Nathan Sharp. We look forward to their spiritual insight. New board members in the fall will be Christina Williams with the Study Room Committee, Alanna Truog with the Platform Committee, and Henry Goff chairing the Usher Committee. The CSO is in good hands for next year. We are also still looking for a faculty or staff member to take on the role of chairman of the Membership Committee — let Mark Evans know if you’re interested.

Finally, thanks to everyone who attended the lecture with Susie Jostyn last Thursday! The lecture, entitled “How do I know God has a plan for me?”, was an exciting and insightful talk about thinking outside of the mold and receiving God’s guidance.

Thanks to everyone for a successful quarter, and have a great summer!

Sincerely,

Mark Evans
CSO President
